Drawing Challenge Day 55

Drawing Challenge Day 54

I feel
As never before I have
To heal
I tore my brittle wall in half
So be
My pain, my weak, my small,
Tears, scars, and blood-
It's worth them all.

Drawing Challenge Day 53--- Plus beach trip

Two days behind on posting drawings XP

I DID do this drawing back on Wednesday, I promise. I was at the beach all day with friends and got home late. This is a sketch of our campfire, in case you couldn't tell. I was having a terrible time drawing with chilled hands from playing in the waves.

Lovely beach. Bit of a hike down stairs to get there.

I chased all the seagulls around B-)

Dead seagulls always strike me as extremely funny for some reason.

David found crabs.

It was overcast when we arrived around noon, but cleared up and warmed up later on.

Tan enjoying some melodramatic meditation out on a rock in the waves. (I waded out and hopped all over his rock island to make sure he didn't feel too special XD B-). Chris off to the right, deciding something.

Chris and I supervising Tan's fire starting efforts. I'm behind the camera, but I'm making the same face as Chris here.

Brenna and Tan hiding from the smoke with varying levels of success.

Poem

Blossoming budding devotion
Enveloping desire to advance
Enraptured hearts thumping as they move
Leaping and stumbling to romance

Pleasant food forward understanding
Only sweet honey on tongue
But honey alone will soon sicken
And realization or bile will come.

Drawing Challenge Day 52

Today, I did not feel like drawing.

Drawing Challenge Day 46

"Alone" poem by Edgar Allan Poe

“Alone”

From childhood’s hour I have not been
As others were—I have not seen
As others saw—I could not bring
My passions from a common spring—
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow—I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone—
And all I lov’d—I lov’d alone—
Then—in my childhood—in the dawn
Of a most stormy life—was drawn
From ev’ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still—
From the torrent, or the fountain—
From the red cliff of the mountain—
From the sun that ’round me roll’d
In its autumn tint of gold—
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass’d me flying by—
From the thunder, and the storm—
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view—

Drawing Challenge Day 43

Merdude pulling up seaweed.
He obviously needs it for something, though I can't imagine what.

"Dreamland Virus"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Blue lead in my arms and legs
Twinkles in my fingertips
The world turned blue and swimming
I'm confused
I must be in a dream
A dream
Dreamland
Dreamland Virus.
A ticklish lethargy in my chest
An alien waking in my breast
I'm floating away from what's real
I'm lost
I must be infected
By a dream
Dreamland
Dreamland Virus.
It's got me reeling-
Dream
Dreamland
Dreamland Virus
Dream
Dreamland
Dreamland Virus
Walk away from the bright sounds
Try to work with the lights out
I remember I've seen this place before
I'm suspicious
I must have forgotten
About the dream
Dreamland
Dreamland Virus.
It's got me reeling-
Can't seem to find the ground
Can't seem to figure out
What or who it's all about
I'm a melancholy captive bound
By a dream
Dreamland
Dreamland Virus
Reeling-
Dream
Dreamland
Dreamland Virus
Dream
Dreamland
Dreamland Virus
Dream
Dreamland
Dreamland Virus
Dream
Dreamland
Dreamland Virus.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I wrote a song.

Stop

Drifting pain to hate arrive

Stop

Losing will to look alive

Run

Hard away from budding lie

Tear apart the growing strands before you change your mind.

Drawing Challenge Day 42- Great grandparents 75th Anniversary

Today was my great-grandparent's 75th wedding anniversary party.

My great-grandpa Harold bought this Model A when he was 16, and has had it ever since. I did a sketch of it at the party and gave it to him and grandma. My sister Autumn should also get credit for providing the paper and idea- I just arrived when she was starting a sketch and redid the whole thing XP

A little girl named Annika (I think she was probably around 8?) saw the picture I drew and asked Autumn if I could do a portrait of her- and of course Autumn told her I could. So I did, in about two and a half minutes XD We got interrupted for a family picture, but she seemed happy, and I gave her the portrait to keep.

Drawing Challenge Day 31

Quicky. Long day today.

I was at the forge when I thought of her and saw her.
I compared her to me, and saw that she was far more untied and free.
I saw she had been preparing for something-- unusually strong in her weakness now.
I saw a strange space before her that she walked into with a faithful heart.
And I was filled with sorrow and grief.
I saw the warning had been given kindly years ago. Rest, recovery, and preparation had followed.
Now I see a great and terrible future.
A man beside her. The gospel on her lips, and pain and suffering with the Lord to hold her.
I see the end.
I remain and endure and am struck to the core.
I pray my Lord, be merciful.
If you take her, come soon after.
Do not prolong our suffering- hear our cries and hasten.
Your will be done.
I saw all this and felt all this, and wept on the gravel beneath my boots.
